Eden cooperates with Mercedes-Benz Taiwan making Taiwan into a more beautiful place

Eden Social Welfare Foundation teamed up with Mercedes-Benz Taiwan for CSR project “StarDreams-Calendar Bazaar Eden Elephant Project” to provide better education and nutritious meals for students in Taiwan’s underprivileged area.

For the past nine years, Mercedes-Benz Taiwan has been Eden’s long-term charity sponsor,  participating actively in social works and contributing to the Taiwanese society. This year, leading by Eckart Mayer, President & CEO  of Mercedes-Benz Taiwan, staffs from Mercedes-Benz Taiwan and Mercedes-Benz Financial Service Taiwan invited Eden’s children to become environmental volunteers in Miaoli County. Experiencing the beauty of nature and  tree-planting activities by their own hands in Mercedes Formosa Forest  Mercedes-Benz Taiwan also invited HIMA Foundation to share the knowledge of eco-restoration and the importance of tree-planting. Following the instructions, Eden’s children planted saplings step by step. And promised to come back to the forest to see their tress after planting. 

”This activity is very meaningful for young children, allowing them to experience the power of our mother land.” Said the representative from Eden. This event could also further stimulate their motivation to join environmental protection.

“It is such a touching moment when you see trees planted three years ago have already grown so much,” said Mr. Mayer. He hoped the activity can educate the young children with more ecological knowledge and pass on the spirit of environmental protection. Furthermore, Mercedes-Benz Taiwan also calls for more partners to participate in activities to support more underprivileged students to grow up happily.

In Taiwan, more than 16 million underprivileged students need our helping hands on their educational and living environment. They are deprived of the opportunity to fulfill their dreams because of the remoteness of living area and inadequate resources in educational staffs. Eden’s project aims to provide them nutritious breakfast, after-school care and multi-learning services. It has benefited more than 20 thousands students so far. In the future, Eden will continue the project and keep supporting more underprivileged students to have adequate academic helps and healthy breakfast. Through the multi-learning services, it can also enhance their ability to achieve their dreams someday.
