“Love Children Happiness Festival” Kicks Off in Taipei, Showcasing 20 Years of Achievement in Early Intervention and the “Elephant Circle Project”

To safeguard children’s rights to healthy development, Eden Foundation hosted the “Love Children Happiness Festival 2026” at the Ximen Red House. In addition to a week-long static exhibition, the event featured exciting and lively stage performances and bazaar stalls over the weekend of May 30 and 31, raising public awareness of children’s developmental needs in a relaxed and fun way. Mr. Yu-Chao Chen, President of the Eden Foundation, attended the event to show his support and presented certificates of gratitude to compassionate corporations that have long supported Eden’s children’s services. He expressed his hope to rally social forces to build a friendly and inclusive environment for children with developmental delays and vulnerable students.

On stage, children from the “Elephant Circle” communities supported by Eden across the country confidently played taiko drums, performed energetic dances, and sang traditional tribal songs in their native languages. Among them was the Care Association of Indigenous Family Caregivers from the Jialan Tribe (Buliblosan) in Taitung, which has long been dedicated to music education for tribal children. Pastor Hsiu-Feng Chen shared that tribal children possess exceptional musical talent beyond their academic studies. The association has provided professional music instruction for the past 10 years and hosts annual concerts. Through these stage performances, the children not only build self-confidence but many have also been admitted to music programs in their school, opening up more possibilities for their future.

The “Glimmer Charity Bazaar”, themed “Gathering every act of kindness to become the sunshine for children”, features not only Eden’s early intervention service units—which provide the public with expertise on child development and early intervention—but also community organizations from across the country invited to set up stalls. These organizations showcase the developmental achievements of their tribes and communities, such as Cassia seeds from Pingtung and local handmade crafts. The hope is that the public will participate in charitable causes through their purchases, transforming every act of kindness into a stable force supporting community services and creating a sustainable, positive cycle.

Eden Foundation stated that children are like seeds waiting to grow, and the public is the indispensable sunlight, air, and water they need. As long as they receive timely support, they can blossom into their most comfortable and carefree way. For many years, Eden has been deeply committed to children’s services. For children aged 0 to 6 with developmental delays and their families, we provide companionship and support through daycare, home-based therapy, and family support services. It is dedicated to overcoming the “triple issues”— difficult to access services, do not know how to use services, and hesitant to use the services—to achieve the goals of equal access to early intervention: zero distance in service delivery, a strong family support network, uninterrupted access to resources, and a more inclusive society.

For school-age children, through the “Elephant Circle Project,” we support local churches and community associations in promoting after-school care, diverse capacity-building programs, psychological empowerment, and talent development, ensuring that children do not lose hope for the future due to a lack of resources or family dysfunction. Starting in 2006 with issues such as school closures in remote areas and the need for nutritious breakfasts, this year marks the 20th anniversary of the project. From the initial 40 partner organizations, Eden has now expanded to 22 counties and cities across Taiwan, empowering a total of 1,357 service sites, benefiting over 60,000 schoolchildren, and providing more than 2.86 million breakfasts. This support has not only stabilized the children’s education but has also allowed love to flow through communities, reaching every family in need.

Now in its eighth year, the “Love Children Happiness Festival” continues to be hosted by Eden’s founding principle of “Seeing the Need.” Through various actions, Eden promotes the concept of children’s equality and partners with the public to build a comprehensive support network for slow-flying angels and students in remote areas.
