“ArtPara 2026 @ Milano–Cortina” recently concluded its run at Milan’s iconic Ex Fornace from March 7th to 18th. Organized by the Korea-based People with Disabilities and Friends of Five Continents Foundation, the exhibition served as a global stage for inclusivity and creativity alongside the Milano Cortina Winter Paralympics.
The event brought together 142 artists from 31 countries across Asia, Oceania, Europe, Africa, and the Americas. Through the expression of art, creativity, diverse life experience, and expressive power transcending languages and regions were shown by the artists with disabilities. The exhibition also expressed a message to the world: every artist deserves equal recognition and genuine appreciation.
Three pieces of artwork created by the artists from Eden Social Welfare Foundation in Taiwan were selected to display in the ArtPara, placing Taiwan’s vibrant creative spirit under the global spotlight from the entire world, including:
Ms. Zhen-Yu Chen, from Tainan Cedar Tree Small-Scale Community Workshop, presented “Sky Lanterns,” a passionate work that captures moments of joy and family support with heartfelt warmth and color.
Ms. Chuen-Jin Liang, a life educator from Eden’s Volunteer Development Division, exhibited “Birch Waterfall in My Memory”, an oil painting that layers colors and textures to reflect rebirth and transformation after life’s challenges—radiating courage, gratitude, and hope.
A-Zai, from Fountain Clubhouse, contributed “Inside/Outside”, a deeply visceral work expressing the artist’s inner world through colors and forms. Although less accustomed to verbal communication, A-Zai uses art as an honest language of emotion and understanding.
All three works reveal the artists’ individual passion, engagement and self-expression. Art here is not only a medium of creation, but also a space for self-discovery, healing, and a way to link with the world.
Eden have long been dedicated to developing the artistic potential and promoting the participation in cultural life for persons with disabilities. Engagement in global events such as ArtPara 2026 not only showcases Taiwan’s creative voices but also reinforces our belief that “empowering persons with disabilities means ensuring equal visibility and recognition—not just in-service contexts, but on every world stage.”
Eden sincerely appreciated the host organizations for fostering this exchange and congratulated the three artists for stepping onto the world stage. We looking forward to seeing more inspiring stories from Taiwan and Eden, and we will continue to connect with the world through art and creativity.
