The event commenced with a performance by Kinmen University's “Dream Honor Guard.” Parents' Association for Persons with Disabilities of Kinmen County and Futen Home also presented carefully prepared dance performances, filling the venue with joyful energy. Thirteen award recipients took the stage to applause, receiving honors from Deputy County Magistrate Wen-Liang Li. They were recognized as exemplary persons with disabilities, exemplary caregivers of persons with disabilities, and meritorious contributors to advancing social welfare. Each demonstrated their passion for life and kindness toward others. The event also aimed to raise public awareness of the diverse experiences of persons with disabilities through these role models, fostering the concept of social inclusion.

This year, 13 award recipients—including persons with disabilities, caregivers of persons with disabilities, and meritorious contributors to advancing social welfare—were honored as exemplary role models.
Deputy County Magistrate Wen-Liang Li indicated that this year's award recipients included a mother devoted to caring for her premature child, an 88-year-old person with disabilities actively engaged in volunteer service, and dedicated service workers who have long demonstrated compassion and patience in caregiving. Each of their stories is a testament to accumulated experiences. We also extend our gratitude to numerous local social welfare organizations that have collaborated with the Kinmen County Government to actively promote diverse services for persons with disabilities. Together, we are building a more comprehensive and livable environment for Kinmen.

Deputy Kinmen County Magistrate Wen-Liang Li aspires to create a more inclusive Kinmen
Mr. Yu-Chao Chen, President of Eden Foundation stated that Eden has been deeply rooted in Kinmen for many years. From assistive device services and clubhouse for psycho-social disability to disability service centers, Eden approaches the needs of every person with disabilities and their families with an attitude of “respect” and “friendliness.” Eden has also long advocated for disability equality. However, many “invisible disabilities” remain in society, requiring our recognition and understanding to eliminate misunderstanding and discrimination. Therefore, we urge the public to show more patience, more observation, and more listening, making our communities more inclusive.

As the year draws to a close, Eden integrated the “Eden Annual Banquet” into this year's International Day of Persons with Disabilities series activity. Under the theme “Gathering Hearts in Kinmen: Sitting at the Shared Table,” 60 tables were set for nearly 600 persons with disabilities and their families from across the county to enjoy a festive luncheon together, celebrating the holiday season early. Additionally, information booths provided diverse welfare resources, enhancing participants' awareness and utilization of social services.

Kinmen University's honor guard kicked off the event with a spectacular performance.
Eden have long cared for seniors and persons with disabilities, providing not only professional social welfare services but more importantly, compassionate care and companionship.
