Eden's “Nonprofit Housing-for-Pension Service”, Enters Communities to Support Families in Need.

To address the concerns of parents of persons with disabilities regarding their children's future care and financial stability, Eden Foundation was invited to participate in the “Fu-Chung Occupational Workshop” hosted by Taipei City Hospital on June 7. Dr. Sean Wang, the Executive Board Director of Eden introduced the Foundation's “Donation Subject to the Housing-for-Pension Service” to over 70 service users with psycho-social disability and their families, offering additional options for future financial and living arrangements.

Furthermore, Mr. Yu-chao Chen, President and Ms. Ailan Tsao, Board Director of Eden attended the event, then received commendations and letter of gratitude from Ms. Yi-Jing Wu, Director of the Fu-Chung Occupational Workshop, and Dr. Chih-Chiang Chiu, Deputy President, Songde Branch of Taipei City Hospital.

Eden's “Donation Subject to the Housing-for-Pension Service” model involves applicants donating their houses to Eden. In return, Eden provides regular living expenses and support services, ensuring applicants receive reliable care system backing. Executive Board Director Dr. Sean Wang stated that Eden's housing-for-pension program goes beyond exchanging real estate for financial support. Crucially, it offers comprehensive care and compassion, ensuring dignity and security in the later years of those in need.

The Fu-Chung Occupational Workshop, a community rehabilitation center established by Songde Branch of Taipei City Hospital, has long assisted people with psycho-social disabilities in reinstating into society through occupational training. During service delivery, it was observed that parents of some service users unable to secure stable employment grapple with the anxiety: “What will happen to him/her when I am gone?” This collaboration aims to transform such anxieties into concrete, proactive solutions through cross-sectoral resource integration.

Eden shares the housing-for-pension services, hoping to offer parents of individuals with disabilities more resource options.

Eden anticipate continuing to collaborate with medical institutions and community organizations to promote the “Donation Subject to the Housing-for-Pension Service” to more individuals in need. This program aims to assist them in planning stable futures, realizing the vision of “aging in place” and “peace of mind through entrustment.” If interested in this program, please download the service brochure or call +886-2-2230-7715 ext. 2004 for consultation.
