Eden Foundation's most anticipated annual occasion for families—the “Love Children Happiness Festival” Taipei event—grandly opened on May 27th at the 5th Floor Mechanical Hall of Yulon City in Xindian! This year's theme, “Community Inclusion: Recognizing the Needs of Parenting Families,” features themed exhibition zones including “Co-Creation,” “Development Journey,” and “Five Senses Experience.” Together, they form a unique growth paradise designed to help the public better understand children's developmental stages and various growth needs, enabling them to accompany their children as they grow up happily.
Today (28th), the opening press conference featured the Monica family—representatives of early intervention families from Taipei Early Intervention Service Center—who, accompanied by Charity Ambassador Edy (HSIAO, Ching Hung), got an exclusive preview of the interactive activities. Mr. Yu-Chao Chen, the President and Mr. Tine-Yuang Ho, Vice CEO of Eden Foundation delivered speeches and presented a certificate of appreciation to representatives from Yulon City, thanking them for generously sponsoring the venue and jointly advocating for children's developmental rights.

Amidst his busy schedule, Charity Ambassador Edy made time to attend and advocate for the Slow-flying Angels. Edy shared that as a father of three, his youngest child is six years old—a period brimming with curiosity and rapid development. Therefore, no matter how busy he is, he always makes time to take his children out exploring the world. Edy emotionally emphasized that childhood is fleeting and precious, especially for Slow-flying Angels. He urged the society to offer more kindness and understanding, enabling early intervention families to confidently support their children's exploration and gradual growth in a friendly environment.

Monica, now four years old and attending daycare program of Eden's Taipei Early Intervention Service Center, was diagnosed with hepatoblastoma at age one. After chemotherapy and surgery, she gradually recovered but then faced developmental delays. This left her parents deeply discouraged and heartbroken over their child's struggles. However, they quickly rallied, actively seeking resources to find a glimmer of hope for Monica's developmental journey.
Over a year ago, when Monica first joined the daycare program, she required assistance to walk and lacked verbal communication skills. Through picture card guidance and physical support, the aducare givers assisted her gradually improve across all developmental conditions. Now, Monica can walk independently and easily grasp simple vocabulary. “We are so grateful we did not give up. Thanks to early intervention, Monica makes progress every day,” her mother shared. Seeing her child run and jump healthily, learning with joy—no hardship feels too great. She also expressed deep gratitude to Eden for alleviating her sense of isolation when facing her child's developmental challenges.
The mother shared her journey, expressing gratitude to Eden for the support, which alleviated her feelings of isolation and helplessness during her child's developmental challenges.
As society rapidly evolves and family structures shift, data from the National Health Insurance Administration and the Ministry of Health and Welfare indicates that over 100,000 children received early intervention services in 2023, with more than 30,000 cases reported. Ensuring timely access to early intervention resources has become a critical issue. In response, Eden highlights three critical observations of focus: recognizing the early intervention needs of “undiscovered slow-flying angels,” identifying children with developmental delays in “rural and marginalized communities,” and acknowledging the pressures faced by “exhausted caregivers.” Eden hope for greater societal attention and goodwill, ensuring every child is seen and given the opportunity to grow.

Accompanied by Charity Ambassador Edy, slow-flying angel Monica enjoys a delightful shared reading session exploring an engaging fairy tale book.
Eden Foundation emphasizes our early intervention services uphold the principle of “continuously identifying needs,” building a comprehensive “early intervention support network.” Based on family needs, it offers diverse services including day care, hourly session, home-based therapy, and family support. Starting from the basics, it promotes children's developmental knowledge and awareness, extending its reach to families and communities. The goal is to create a society where children with developmental challenges can play freely and parents receive support, ensuring that a child's growth is no longer an isolated family struggle but a small need that society can collectively embrace.
Eden's Taipei event of Love Children Happiness Festival runs through 10th, June. Weekend activities include children's theater performances, picture book shows, and child development consultations—all free of charge. We warmly invite families to join us in creating a friendly, inclusive growth paradise. For more details, visit Eden's official website or search “Eden Love Children Happiness Festival.”
