The morning of 11th, Oct., Eden Foundation received a delegation from one of our diplomatic allies - Guatemala. Eden's President Mr. Yu-Chao Chen, CEO Ms. Yen-Bin Chung, and Vice CEO Mr. Tien-Yuan Ho exchanged views with the distinguished guests including the Secretary, The Secretariat of Social Work of the Wife of the President, Hon. Dra. Zulma Melizza Calderón Ordoñez and the Secretary, Social Welfare Bureau of the President Office, Hon. Sr. Marvin Rabanales García, also discussed the need to work together to promote the well-being of persons with disabilities around the globe.
The Delegation from one of our diplomatic allies - Guatemala visited Eden Headquarters today.
During the visit, Eden arranged the delegation to visit the Center of CRPD Research and Practice to introduce the domestic services of our organization and the current status of overseas services. Eden also shared its practical experience on the service history and characteristics of employment for persons with disabilities, and how to work with the government to promote social welfare policy issues.
During the visit, the delegation exchanged views on issues such as employment for persons with disabilities and government cooperation.
During the visit, the delegation talked about the issue of “actively seeking help” by persons with disabilities. Eden shared that it is very important for the government departments to set up a mechanism for tracking and case management of persons with disabilities after their identification, and Eden's long-term advocacy and social education activities have gradually gained the acceptance of the society, which is the key for persons with disabilities to come out of their home and get into the community.

The Secretary, The Secretariat of Social Work of the Wife of the President, Hon. Dra. Zulma Melizza Calderón Ordoñez, said that she could see the hope on the faces of the service users during the presentation. She thanked Eden for sharing its valuable experience, which has given the delegation a lot of benefits and hopes to bring back the new development and motivation to Guatemala. Eden's President, Mr. Yu-Chao Chen, said that Eden was honored to receive the delegation and looked forward to have the more opportunities for exchange and cooperation in the future.
