In order to help young children learn teamwork and build sportsmanship through sports, the “Dragons Come Together” Parent-Child Sports Day, organized by the Eden Foundation and collaborated by three units in the Keelung district as Nanrong Nonprofit Preschool, Chungshan Nonprofit Preschool, and the Keelung Service Center, was held at Nanrong Elementary School, Ren-Ai District, Keelung City, in the morning of the 11th, May. Nearly 200 groups of families participated in the event. Mr. Yu-Chao Chen, President of Eden, Mr. Kuo-Liang Hsieh, Mayor of Keelung City, Mr. Tzu-Wei Tung, Speaker of Keelung Municipal Council and Mr. Kuo-Liang Weng, General Manager of Taiwan Cooperative Securities, as well as a number of distinguished guests, also attended the event and enthusiastically cheered for all the little athletes.
Little athletes took the oath to the “Dragons Come Together” Parent-Child Sports Day.
The Parent-Child Sports Day officially started after the little athletes entered the playground and took their oath. The carefully designed parent-child interactive games kept the athletes laughing and entertained. Whether it was the parents pulling up the slippery cloth for the young children to walk on, or the fabric parachute dribbling and bubble ball passing activities, everyone was very engaged in the activities, and the cheerleaders at the side were not idle either, cheering one after another and adding full strength to the participants.

Eden recognizes the importance of “inclusion” and the Parent-Child Sports Day was a great opportunity for everyone to understand and help each other in the game.
The grand finale of the Games was the indispensable “Relay Race”. The children demonstrated teamwork, accompanied and supported each other as they ran towards the finish line. They may not be fast, and the process may be a bit bumpy, but the spirit of athletes who do not give up has touched the hearts of every distinguished guest at the venue. At the end, the little athletes stood on the awarding podium and the distinguished guests put on their medals to give them the sincerest encouragement and hope that they will remember this moment in the future, and continue to move forward on the road of growth with courage.

Each leg runner of the relay team is important, but more important than the speed is that each child can enjoy it.
Eden Foundation indicated that the “Dragons Come Together” Parent-Child Sports Day extended the experience of early intervention services to various activities, not only to observe the development of children, but also to bring parents and children closer together. We would like to thank the Keelung City Government, council members, as well as Nanrong Elementary School, Renai Elementary School, and Zhongshan Elementary School for their fully support in the service day-to-day; we are also grateful to our partner, Taiwan Cooperative Securities, for their donation in the service funding, and sponsored the iPASS Cards as the participating gifts for the children, as well as the dedication of the volunteers to join hands to create the value of inclusion and friendliness in the event today.
Hua Hua served as the last leg of the relay race, and accompanied by her team members, she walked towards the finish line step by step.
Eden has been engaged in early intervention services in Keelung for 25 years. Seeing the importance of inclusion in our services, we have further invested in education. And has operated Nanrong Nonprofit Preschool, Chungshan Nonprofit Preschool based on the basic principles of the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC). Behind this mission is the insistence on the equal growth of every child, as well as the support and care for their families, hoping that children will grow up healthily and receive good education and care in the preschools. Eden believes that every child will have the bright future, but every step of growth is not easy. The concept of respect for diversity, inclusion and friendliness need to be rooted from childhood, and we believe that if you and I have the warming smile is all it takes to send some love and warmth to the society.

Originally evaluated to be unable to walk, after received our early intervention service, Hua Hua is now able to use the mobility aids to move forward, and even participates in relay race, which is very touching to her mother.
