Eden Social Welfare Foundation is 40 years. Eden was held the 40th event called “ Social Participation in Housing Justice for Good Together” in Taichung, which includes crossover walking, various markets and presentation in celebration of 40th birthday od Eden. The walking crossover event started from Yuxian social housing in Taiping, led by the president, Ms. Joan C. Lo., the supervisor Mr. Chang Liang Lai, the vice president Mr. Benjamin Lin and Mr. Mitch Tsao, the director general of Taichung district Ms. Lily Li, the director general of Nantou district Ms. Huei-Ru Yan, the director general of Chunghua, Yunlin and Chiayi districts Mr. Hung-Chi HUNG, the volunteers, the service users , the working partners, and the two main characters of the picture book published by Eden, walked into the community together. It symbolizes the concept of common wealth and inclusion. Moreover, the deputy mayor of Taichung cityMr.Jung Da Linghu and the director general of department of social welfare Mr.Huai-Chen Peng congratulate the event and witness the milestone of Eden’s 40th anniversary.
In addition, there were numerous markets and special stages, the dancing from the persons with disabilities, the cheerleading dance from the elderly the Taiko performance, the hand puppet show and so on are included. A crowd about more than 500 people attended the event and felt joyful.
Eden actively promoted the "Easy to Read and Understand" information compilation exhibition in order to let the public understand Eden’s 40 years of service and achievement in Taichung, inviting people with disabilities to join the compilation team. All publications were designed with the reading needs of people with mental disabilities, text reading difficulties, and the visually impaired in mind, fulfilling the spirit of CRPD.
We hope to bring more love and faith to the community in the future, to support the physically and mentally challenged and disadvantaged families with the gospel and welfare, and to continue to practice human rights and receive God's guidance through service, so that the public can see infinite possibilities and hope.
