Eden Social Welfare Foundation was founded by Ms. Liu Hsia in 1982 and this year entered its 40th year officially. In the most important year, Eden took part in the “ Walking Crossover” event in order to fulfill the spirit of community involvement and convey the concept of social coexistence and integration, letting all the staff stride over the 40th year together in Taipei session in September 30th(Friday).

Within the core of memorial and legacy, the event was led by our president, Ms. Joan C. Lo. Also, there were more than 500people, including board members, partners with Eden, staff, volunteers and service-users, walked 6 kilometers. Hence, the route for the Taipei session has planned for 4 stops, starting from Guandu trestle bend wharf, passing through Zhuwei station,Hongshulin and ending at Tamsui MRT station. Symbolizing the 40th years, Eden invited numerous volunteer partners to carry out the relay. Mr. A-Zhung, a 30-year veteran visually impaired volunteer, served as the representative for the first stop, while the second stop was taken by Ms. Shu-ling Jian, a volunteer from Sanshia, and Liao Wen-cheng, a representative for the physically challenged employment service case. At the third stop, the young volunteer Ying-Ru Huang from Taoyuan joined with An-an and An-an's mother, the2nd early intervention graduate from Keelung Service Center hand in hand. The last stop was made successfully by long-term volunteer Uncle Lin, along with senior representatives A-Liu and Grandma Li-You, who crossed the barrier and reached the final destination together, accompanied by senior officials and VIPs.

In this day, the special stage was arranged at the terminal owing to inviting the public to have fun. It was honored to invite the dance group with persons with disabilities and the Eden choirs for the visually impaired to perform. In addition, there were 10 service units setting up stalls for the charity sales.

As Eden enters its 40th year, we hope to bring more love and confidence to the community in the future, providing support to the persons with disabilities and underprivileged families through the gospel and welfare. At the same time, Eden would continue to practice human rights through our services and receive God's guidance, ensuring the public can see infinite possibilities and hope.
The “ Walking Crossover” event was accomplished effectively in Taipei and the event would be followed in Taichung, Kaohsiung and Taitung, inviting all the colleagues and volunteer partners to participate in the wall together. In the future, Eden will walk with God, governments, domestic and foreign organizations, partners and service users to walk together towards the next decade of Eden conjointly.
