The 16th ASEAN-China Forum on Social Development and Poverty Reduction was held on 28th June (Tue) in the city of Nanning, Southern China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. About 150 participants from China and 10 ASEAN countries, international organizations, experts and scholars participated in the event.
第十六屆中國—東協社會發展與減貧論壇於6月28日(二) 在廣西壯族自治區南寧市舉行。來自中國和東協10國、國際組織、專家學者共約150人參加此次活動。
Liu Huanxin, Administrator of National Rural Revitalization Administration of China, indicated that China takes concrete action to actively respond to the spirit of the “High-level dialogue on global development,” and jointly promote the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through this Forum.
國家鄉村振興局局長劉煥鑫表示，中國透過次論壇積極響應“全球發展高階對話”精神，採取具體行動共同推動並實踐2030永續發展目標(SDGs)。
China would conduct in-depth studies of the poverty reduction assistance projects implemented in six poor villages in Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar, and promote cooperation in the implementation of the projects. Moreover, China's National Rural Revitalization Administration would organize the establishment of a “China-ASEAN Poverty Reduction Experts Database” to gather new ideas and practices from various countries and fields to promote poverty reduction and rural development, and improve knowledge sharing, Liu added.
中方將深入研究柬埔寨、寮國、緬甸等6個貧困農村實施的減貧援助項目並實施合作。此外，中國國家鄉村振興局將組建“中國—東協減貧專家資料庫”，匯集各國、各領域促進減貧和農村發展的新思維和新模式，並改善知識共享，劉補充說。
With the overlapping effects of climate change, the COVID-19 pandemic and geopolitical factors, countries Southeast Asia have encountered setbacks in the process of poverty reduction and are facing the common challenge of returning to poverty.
由於氣候變遷、COVID-19疫情和地緣政治因素交互影響，東南亞地區國家在減貧進程中遭遇挫折，並面臨重返貧困的共同挑戰。
Deng Xijun, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to ASEAN, also proposed “We should innovate ways of cooperation to create highlights of poverty reduction. We should gradually expand from the traditional bridge-building, road-building, medical and agricultural technologies and capacity training to opening a new phase of innovative poverty alleviation through economic and trade, tourism, environmental protection and technology. We should rely on and use emerging technologies such as internet+, artificial intelligence and financial technology to empower and add strength to the cooperation between the two sides.”
中國駐東協大使鄧錫軍也提議: “我們應以創新合作方式，打造減貧亮點。逐步從傳統的架橋、築路、醫療、農業技術和能力培訓拓展到經貿、旅遊、環保、科技等創新扶貧新階段。我們要依靠和利用互聯網+、人工智能、金融科技等新興技術，拓展雙邊合作量能。”
