Today marks Eden’s 38th year anniversary of serving persons with disabilities. Starting from a small group of people of “Eden Handicap Foundation,” now Eden has evolved to a 3,000-staff “Eden Social Welfare Foundation,” with over 130 service centers serving more than 200,000 persons and families every year.
Our beloved founder- Ms. Liu Hsia, founded Eden under the vision of “Serving the Weak to Witness Christ, Promoting Gospel and Welfare to Bring People to God. She answered the calling from God and harbored her heart that empathized with the ones in need. Over these 38 years, Eden’s services expand from providing direct care services to training, rehabilitation, and advocacy services: which include: vocational training, rehabilitation transportation service, early intervention services, disaster relief, and advocacy. Over the 38 years, Eden truly put its motto into practice “Wherever there is a need, there is an answer from Eden.” And with God’s love, Eden’s services will continue.
2020 has been a tough year for many, especially for persons with disabilities. However, we still have hope for the future as the scripture said “We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us!”- Philippians 4:13
