Celebrating the Taiwan Social Workers Day

Following the International Social Work Day in March, we are celebrating the Taiwan Social Workers Day on the 2nd April.

The theme of this year is Human Relationships. Social work is about connections: the connection between care-givers and care-users; between care-users and the community; and the between care-users and the health care system etc. Connection happens in multi levels and across areas. The most importantly, humans are the key component of these connections.

It is very easy to get lost in so many new systems or resources that that happens in the welfare, medical or government areas. Social workers play such an important role in connecting people in need with the right systems with right resources. More than that, social workers also help us to maintain the health relationship with people who play important roles in our lives so that we would have a harmony society.

With the current outbreak of the COVID-19, we have more times to reflect on our lives and think about how to further strengthen the bond between each other. It is indeed a tough time for social workers due to this pandemic. But it is also the crucial moment for not only the social workers but also for all humans to deepen our connections, to improve our “Human Relationship”, which includes showing appreciation to people who are helping the society.

Let’s send our best appreciation to all social workers on this day! Thank you!

Happy Social Worker Day
