2012

Eden Celebrates its 30 year Anniversary

 

 

Eden has been honored to be graced with the presence of His Majesty King Mswati III, King of the Kingdom of Swaziland, who has visited Taiwan with high level officers and administrators of the Kingdom of Swaziland. Eden Rejoicing Choir for the Blind, who had visited Swaziland and performed for the king, had once again the honor to sing for His Majesty

 

 

Eden hosted the “Workability International Conference 2012” (WI 2012), incorporating the Workability Asia Conference 2012“ will be held in Taipei, to promote the employment of persons with disabilities under global economic recession

 

2013 Eden Welfare Centre in Chengdu City, China was officially registered

Eden entered and was stationed in Laos: Eden and other organizations donated 1200 olar power lamps to children living in rural areas

 

 

Eden organized an art exhibition called “Eden Steps with Love and Leaps with Art” which was exhibited in Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan. We chose Bopiliao Historic Block in Taipei for the 6 day exhibition. We invited our co-hosts to Taiwan to cooperate with uss. Over 30 artists from Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau contributed a variety of artworks

 

2017   

 

Eden established the world’s first CRPD Research Center

 

 

The Social and Family Affairs Administration of the Ministry of Health and Welfare entrusted Eden with a project in 2017 to evaluate the impact of CRPD compliant indicators, standards and policies, law and regulations.

 

 

Eden hosted the "Cooperation Forum on Accessibility and Prosperity in Cities". We invited the 5 mayors/ representatives to sign a declaration to build prosperous cities accessible for all. We hope to link the whole world together through accessible transportation.

2019

 

 

 

 

Hosted the Dementia Conference: Building a Dementia Friendly Community. In the afternoon of first day, we specially invited CEO of Silver Wood of Japan to hosted the Virtual Reality (VR) demented experience workshop to experience the world in the eyes of the demented people through VR and the emotional reactions to various seemingly ordinary situations.

 

 

Eden co-hosted with Caritas de Macau and University of San Joseph for the “Asia Pacific Accessible Art Festival” which was exhibited in Macau. We invited over 20 NGOs of Macau, 18 INGOs, 250 persons with disabilities from 15 countries/regions contributed 143 Artworks and 24 Workshops to cooperate with us.

 

 

Hosted Asia Platform to Ban Landmines Meeting for the representatives from 10 countries as Canada, South Korea, Laos, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Japan, Nepal, Vietnam, Indonesia and Myanmar. 

 

 

Hosted the international conference on Promotion of Community Services Model for People with Psycho-social Disability in Taiwan:Cross-disciplinary dialogues and diversified support models for ‘metal crisis’.

 

 

Received Taiwan Study Tour on Vocational Training and Employment Service for Persons with Disabilities from The Redemptorist Foundation for the People of Disabilities, Thailand to visited 5 direct service centers of Eden.

 

 

Hosted Developmental Social Work workshops and the International Conference on Developmental Social Work: Dialogue with Social Innovation, Eden invited a total of 18 scholars and experts from U.S, Australia, Hong Kong, Taiwan and other 4 countries/regions to share their development and practical experience in the fields of developmental social work, social innovation and social enterprises, and promote the exchange and integration of international and local service experience.

 

2020

 

 

 

Published the traditional Chinese as well as simplified Chinese translation version of Access Exchange International's "Bridging the Gap" school transportation guide, and the TRB Conference Circular: TRANSED 2018 Special Edition then has been indexed by Transportation Research International Documentation.
 
 

In collaboration with Dual Blessing BHD from Malaysia, Eden co-organized the ”Love without Borders, Hand in Hand -Online Volunteers Training Workshop”, in which professional presenters from Taiwan and Malaysia were invited to share their experience in disabilities, and enable volunteers to experience different disabilities through designed activities.

 

 

Eden’s Artist Shined in Japan

Submitted the oil painting Artwork “Passion” of our service user to the Open Call from DIVERSITY IN THE ARTSand been invited to participated“The 3rd International Art Exhibition” in Japan which hosted by Nippon Foundation.

 

 

Received the Award from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for our outstanding achievements in NGO international affairs in the 20th Anniversary Celebration of the Department of NGO International Affairs to recognize Eden’s outstanding contribution among Taiwan NGOs for our dedications in the social welfare of the six major areas.

 

 
 

 

Eden Foundation has been granted special consultative status of the Committee on Non- Governmental Organizations (NGOs) by United Nations (UN) Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC)

 
 

Organized the International Workshop on Human Right-Based Approaches (HRBA) – The Implementation of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, academics in the fields of human rights and disabilities from the United Kingdom, Japan, Korea, and Taiwan were invited to give speeches and share their professional experience online.

 

2021

 

 

Hosted online International Seminar on Employment Rights of Persons with Disabilities in a Crisis of COVID-19 Pandemic, we had over 100 participants and 60 of them were overseas attendees.

 

 

Organized online Asia Regional Forum on Landmine Victim Assistance, we involved 7 countries as Vietnam, South Korea, Thailand, Myanmar, Taiwan, Japan and Laos for sharing and discussion together.

 

 

Co-hosted Global Cooperation and Training Framework (GCTF) Virtual Conference on The Implementation of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, our participants from 20 countries of the world. And we offered Communication Access Realtime Translation (CART) service in English/Mandarin also Taiwanese sign language service.

 

 

Organized online event named “Steps with Love, Leaps with Art-International Seminar on Disability Arts”, we involved 5 country/region as Australia, Taiwan, Thailand, Macau and Hong Kong for shared experience to each other.

 

2022

 

 

Hosted online International Workshop on Rehabilitation and Arts, we had a total of 165 participants from 16 country/region of the world.

 

 

Eden Task Force hosted the special serial of events for Maibgah Tribe to celebrating the 40th Anniversary of our foundation, with the support from the local companies, we not only connected with the internship team from China University of Technology for the public toilet reconstruction but also international volunteers who from 9 country/region of the world who lead the SDGs English Camp for the community.

 

 

Co-hosted the Taiwan-Myanmar Early Intervention Workshop with our international double blessing partner, Eden Centre for Disabled Children (ECDC) in Myanmar. We had 70 participants and exchanged opinion on the direct services which both of us provide for the children with special needs.

 

 

Arranged site visit and field study into 5 direct service centers in Chiayi and Changhua for 14 Taiwan trip group members of University of Wollongong, Australia. Then we co-hosted the hybrid International Social Work Dialogue Forum:Response-based Practice with Taiwan National University and University of Wollongong, Australia. We had more than 150 participants from 18 country/region of the world.
