From 2018, Eden Foundation will hold the "Love Children Happiness Festival" in May every year in North, Central and South Taiwan, advocating the concept of "all children should be loved". In South Taiwan, we held the 2023 "Believe in Love, Slow-Flying without Barriers" charity concert on the afternoon of the 27th, May at the Auditorium of National Kaohsiung Normal University, where many parents brought their children to enjoy a rich musical feast. The audience was full.
The opening performance of the concert was a "Music Session of Class" conducted by the Eden Early Intervention Service team and the Slow-Flying Angels from Chi-Shan, incorporating music into the curriculum and bringing the classroom to the venue. Among the children, there was a pair of brothers who sang and danced happily and at first glance looked like ordinary children, but they were actually wearing hearing aids in their ears.
The older brother, Hsiao Yo, screening with abnormal hearing after been born and was operated on at 18th months old to have an electronic ear installed, while the younger brother, Hsiao Yu, was also found to have abnormal hearing. Both children are hearing impaired, which is heartbreaking for their mother, Chun Hsia Fan. The brothers are studying together at the early intervention center, and their hearing training is gradually improving.
The popular parent-child group "Hsin-Chih Hsieh's Love Singing Theater" took the stage in the form of a driving sing and dance along, combining a number of well-known original children's songs composed by Hsin-Chih Hsieh into a spectacular performance, and enthusiastically interacting with the children under stage. Last year, Jun-Jia Wang won the 33rd Golden Melody Awards for best Taiwanese male singer with his "See Nothing" Taiwanese songwriting album, and he said, "Although I can't see with my eyes, I put all this is in the heart. I'll keep singing and singing good songs for everyone.
Ms. One Fang is the charity ambassador of Eden Foundation again after 2019, and today's performance chose the song "Slow Train" to encourage slow-flying angel families. Ms. One Fang said, "I hope the songs are like sunshine shining in everyone's heart. The climax of the concert was the chorus of "Sweetheart Baby" by One Wan, Jun-Jia Wang and the parents of Chi-Shan Early Intervention Center, hoping to spread the touching power to every corner of the society.
Eden Foundation indicates that this year is the 30th year of Eden's early intervention service for children with developmental delays, serving an average of about 20,000 children with developmental delays each year, calling on the public to pay attention to the developmental needs of children, to let the public understand the difficulties faced by disadvantaged children, and to discover the children who are hidden and in need of help. We invite the public to respond to Eden's "Service Programs for Underprivileged Children", so that more children who are neglected or suspected with developmental delays can have an opportunity to catch up with their growth.
