Thousand Kilometers Love Delivery from Eden Social Welfare Foundation

Service without limitations, Eden donated the emergency allowance for the association for the support of people with Disabilities and Orphans of HCMC in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, in the late December in 2021. The total amount for each person is about US$815 dollars, which includes the emergency allowance of US$70 dollars and living materials of almost US$13 dollars.

In Vietnam, starting from April 2021, the Covid-19 pandemic had its most serious outbreak in the southern provinces. With the number soaring up to 10,000 new infection cases in July, this dire situation led to strict lockdowns for both Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, which lasted for three months. This situation certainly affected people's basic income and livelihood. Needless to say, it brought even greater economic pressures for those marginalized minorities.

Based on the statistics from the Vietnam Ministry of Education and Training, there are about 1,517 children who lost their parents to the Covid-19, leaving about 300 orphans with no basic allowance for their daily needs. To help them get through these desperate circumstances, we worked with the Vietnam Friendship Association of Vinh Long Province, and Ho Chi Minh City Disabled and Orphaned Children's Aid Association by providing financial support to 45 children. Each child would receive US$87 in total,. We hope through this subsidy, their daily expenses can be covered for a time, and their pain caused by this pandemic can be slightly soothed.
