The Wonderland of 80s, The Company of Eden–Grandpa Mao Sung

Eden's Senior Citizen comic iconThe Wonderland of 80s, The Company of Eden–Grandpa Mao Sung

It is predicted that five years later, one in every five people in Taiwan will be over 65 years old. The entire society is rapidly aging, and we will soon enter the stage of super-aged society. What does life at old age look like in your imaginations?

Eden helps seniors to gather together to increase social interaction, participate in a variety of courses to prevent disability and dementia, and apply for service givers to accompany them to hospitals and shopping. Life in old age should be free of limitation.

Eden's service user Grandpa Mao Sung appears to be a serious person. But actually, he is cheerful and joyful. After retiring, he planted fruits and vegetables in the field his mother left behind. The crops were given out to relatives, neighbors, or students at the elementary school nearby. With an enriching life, Grandpa Mao Sung would sometimes invite children to the mountains and experience agricultural work. However, after having a stroke in 2018, Grandpa Mao Sung wasn't able to move as agile as he used to. At no choice, he paused most activities. He had no place to go other than going to the hospital for rehabilitation and going for a walk.

Grandpa Mao Sung is holding a flower with smile, it shows he is quite enjoy his life with Eden's accompany.
Eden Social Welfare Foundation dedicates itself to help the senior people to obtain a healthy life. The goal is to achieve Sustainable Development Goal 3: healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages, especially for the senior people.

Eden arranged Grandpa Mao Sung to join the Yi-Fu Day Care Center in Taipei City. With the energetic interactions between fellow members, rehabilitation exercises led by service providers, and a number of exciting courses, he regained his past vigor. Moreover, he feels happier now and no longer needs a crutch to walk well.  Our lovely Grandpa Mao Sung's favorite activity is singing. At the Day Care Center, as soon as the music starts playing, Grandpa Mao Sung could always sing along immediately. Like his favorite song, life is a happy voyage. His 80s are just the beginning of a beautiful life.

Eden Social Welfare Foundation provides a variety of  care services for senior people. With an original intention of "care for people," we provides the most suitable services that are adjusted for each senior with different health conditions. Care centers located in communities allow seniors to be accompanied by fellows and various activities while not having to be far from home. Day Care Centers are able to release the burden of families caring for the seniors and provide a place for the seniors to feel at ease. Other than fixed point services, Eden actively makes an effort to develop active services, such as accessible bath home-based service, meal-delivering service, pick-up service, assistive devices repairing  and cleaning service, etc. Eden hopes to provide comprehensive care services for the seniors'' and bring warmth and love to their home.
