Eden Social Welfare Foundation dedicates itself to promote proper education for all. Eden’s goal is to achieve United Nation Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Goal 4: Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.
Every child has their talent. However, more than 20,000 children were hindered from learning due to a lack of resources and economically disadvantaged in Taiwan. They have no way to show their strength. For the sake of supporting these children strongly, Eden Social Welfare Foundation invited Alex Niu, who is known for his optimism, to go to rural areas in Taitung as the Charity Ambassador. Alex Niu also played the role of one-day coach. Those children have an unforgettable afternoon with Alex. Eden provided the children positive energy and support and encouraged them to learn with confidence with Alex's warm companion and encouragement.
After Alex arrived at Jinlun Township, Taitung County, 40 children in Eden's Elephant Circle Program gave him a passionate welcome. Alex was like a king of kids among children. As soon as he arrived at the Liqiu Elementary School, he couldn't wait to get to the basketball court and play with the children. During the basketball training game, what impressed Alex the most was the children's energy and enthusiasm, as well as the desire for learning in their eyes. Alex said, what these children lack is "learning opportunities and resources." If there are adequate professional teachers to guide them, it will stimulate the children's unlimited potential.
During the activity, Alex also had a heartwarming conversation with the children while they shared their hobbies generously. A child said that he likes to play basketball with friends after school, and another child shyly shared videos he filmed and his YouTube channel. The children's enthusiasm deeply moved Alex for what they love. He encouraged children with his own experience to make good use of their after-school learning, devote themselves to their favorite fields, cultivate multiple interests, and find their strength. Then they could live with confidence.
