We are proud to share with you that the Transportation Research Circular - TRANSED 2018 is now available online. This is an e-circular published by the Transportation Research Board (TRB) which contains research and practice in the field of accessible transportation for older adults and people with disabilities.
TRANSED is the International Conference on Mobility and Transport for Older Adults and Persons with Disabilities. The 15th TRANSED took place on November 12-15, 2018, in Taipei, Taiwan and was held and organized by Eden Social Welfare Foundation (Eden). Eden invited researches, policymakers, transportation operators, consumers, and specialists from various field around the world to share innovations and best practices to make transportation and mobility more accessible. The theme of the 2018 conference was “Mobility for All: Connecting the World with Accessible Transportation.” With TRB and Taiwan Government’s greatsupport, Eden successfully hostedthis conference which attracted 638 participants from 31 countries in Asia, North America, Africa, South America, Europe, and Australia.
This Transportation Research Circular is published online. It includes background information about previous TRANSED conferences and a brief introduction of the conference itself. More than that, it also includes 13 top conference papers which were selected by the scientific research group of “TRB Standing Committee on Accessible Transportation and Mobility” and based on e conference review system. These papers represent a sample of current research and practice in the field of accessible transportation for older adults and people with disabilities.
Eden will keep on promotingaccessible transportation not only in Asian and Pacific region but also to the world to fulfill United Nation’s Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) and create a better world of “Accessible Transportation” for older adults and persons with disabilities.
