After several cloudy raining days, the sun finally smiled on the Sports Day.  There were nearly 500 parents and children joining in this event, and they all spent a very vigorous, interesting, thankful, and warmhearted Saturday morning together.

The event began with the little athletes marching into the field and made their vows.  After warming up, the athletes, the children and their parents all played “Pass through Dragon Ball”, “Toss & Catch”, “Jump Rope”, “Hula hoop”, and “Scooter”… several funny Parent-child games and activities.  Everyone was so focused and tried best to get the best score.

The director of Children Service Center of Taichung District of Eden Social Welfare Foundation, Liang-Shan-Chen said, “Our foundation undertakes the Children Development Community Resource Centers of Taichung City Government Section II & IV and provides early professional intervention services for those Slow-Flying Angels.  These two sections will organize sports events respectively every year to strengthen the parent-child relationship, and enable the Slow-Flying Angels and children from kindergartens to have more opportunities to interact and learn to treat each other more kindly and properly.

In the occasion like this, the progress and improvements of many children can be found.  Today at the event, director Liang-Shan-Chen said, one Slow-Flying Angel, who will go to the first grade of elementary school this fall had poor control of releasing personal feelings and poor lingual ability when first entering Eden foundation, he just approached to share that he was learning table tennis and showed her some basic movements.  There is also one child from the First Chinese Non-Profit Kindergarten graduations, who wailed when first coming to school, but improved a lot since then.  After seeing the changes of these children, one of the parents - a mother had much contentment and said to Director Liang,” These children really become mature than before.
